I have fixed my computer. Everything is fine, I haven't lost anything. Let's meet sometime this weekend to interview the Slayter people.

So Dave wanted to know whether we have a laptop with an input for a microphone. I do have one PC laptop with a microphone input and as I have said before, I also have a small webcam microphone. It's kinda crappy but if we don't have anything better, it will do. I will also check out the possible PC programs out there for music editing and composition. The bookstore has two programs, both from the same company:
- Magix Music Maker 2004 and
- Magix Music Studio 2004 Deluxe Edition
As far as I know the second one is targeted towards the more professional music composer. It has more capabilities, especially professional MIDI capabilities. I don't really know whether it is what we need, or the first one will do.
The Music Maker 2004 is meant for the less professional music composer, which I believe this is what we are. It has more stuff to do with Wave file formats, so people don't really need MIDI equipment, it also has more sample files (i.e. 5000 compared to 1500 for the previous program, but the Music Maker has 5000 of all kinds of stuff: loops, samples, audio effects, visual effects, opening/ending credits animation texts, layouts for Rich Media websites, so I don't know how many actually are audio samples. The Music Studio software has 1500 audio files) but I don't know whether it has all the features that we need.

Regarding equipment, I don't have much. I have my PDA which is also an MP3 player, but a little bit limited. It cannot record anything. I have a very, very, very crappy webcam microphone. I have a digital camera (just pictures, no video).
I also have a very good sound system in my room, but I don't know how that is going to help us. And regarding software, i haven't tried downloading any of the PC software yet, but I was thinking whether we can use Windows Movie Maker. Is that good? I don't really know what we need from this software.
That's it.
